History

The Non-Communicable Diseases Research Center (NCDRC) was established under the supervision of the Vice-Chancellor for Research and Technology of Neyshabour University of Medical Sciences with the aim of providing support to conduct research in the field of health, especially in non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and comprehensive healthcare. By increasing the research activities at the undergraduate and graduate levels, NCDRC makes attempts to respond to the needs of society. NCDs have recently been responsible for more than 53% of the global burden of diseases. Around 80% of these cases occur in developing countries, and NCDs account for over 76% of the total burden of disease in the Iranian population. Therefore, NCDRC aims to develop useful prevention and control strategies for the occurrence of outbreaks in defined geographical regions. There is a knowledge gap on the prevalence of risk factors, and determinants of NCDs to improve health in Neyshabour. By achieving its organizational goals, visions, and missions for developing control strategies confirmed by comprehensive science-based research, NCDRC will reduce the organizational costs and implement effective measures for public health. Moreover, in NCDRC, the science-based documents and evidence related to NDS have been gathered by providing well-established scientific and research fields, observing ethics in research, and intellectual property rights. For continual progression in research, this center believes that it’s important to maintain transparency at all stages in a conducted research such that the obtained findings and evidence of the prevalence of risk factors for diseases and health policies can be reliable. Also, the members and researchers who come together for the research feel committed to implementing acceptable global and national steps and models for producing documents and results compatible with global and regional results.
